Autism Plus

Salary: £33,150 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Location: Haxby, York
Required: Full UK driving licence

We are currently looking for a Service Manager to manage the package of support for up to 3 individuals on site, in line with CQC standards and requirements, and in line with Autism Plus policies and procedures. The role will involve providing learning and development, to promote physical, emotional, and social wellbeing for individuals with Autism and other disabilities.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have site operational management.
  • Manage, lead and motivate the staff team, volunteers or individuals within the service.
  • Ensure that service delivery is monitored and recorded accurately and competently to the agreed quality standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Observe and monitor the emotional and physical well-being of the individuals we support.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of legal frameworks, Dols, MCA and Court of Protection.
  • Inform relevant staff (Registered Manager) and agencies of any concerns or significant changes in their needs, behaviours and circumstances, adhering to the Mental Capacity Act and Autism Plus Safeguarding policy and procedure.
  • Ensure that any emergencies and incidents are responded to promptly and appropriately within Autism Plus policy and reporting procedures to maintain the welfare and safety of all individuals on site.

The successful candidate will support their team to:

  • Always promote a team approach.
  • Be polite, courteous, and supportive to all team members.
  • Be flexible in accordance with the needs of the weekly rota.
  • Be available to cover leave (sickness, annual, etc.).
  • Assist in the induction of new staff.
  • Work in accordance with training and agreed policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Participate in and contribute to staff meetings.
  • Support colleagues in difficult or potentially difficult situations within the workplace.
  • Ensure issues of concern are elevated to a more knowledgeable member of staff if the situation requires specific expertise.

They will also:

  • Work to agreed standards in line with Autism Plus policies and procedures.
  • Have a flexible attitude to working arrangements.
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested, relative to the objectives of the post
